Bobby ( my dog )

Bobby. Whenever someone says the name Bobby, I used to think of a mean old bully. But once I got my sweet, cute, lovable dog Bobby, that bully thought went away. Bobby is the best dog in the whole world ( no offense to your dog. ) You may ask how Bobby is so great. This is how: 1. Bobby loves to lick my whole family in a loving way. I think that's how dogs show they like you. 2. Bobby never barks at night. NEVER EVER! Even when we first got him, he would never bark at night. 3. Whoever takes Bobby out in the morning, he cuddles at your feet and looks at you in a grateful way. That is how Bobby is so great. Still not persuaded, come to my house and look at Bobby with your own eyes. He will totally make you think he is the best dog in the world.

Starting School Again

September came so fast,
I want summer to last.
Not too long just a week or two,
I want more time to relax don't you?

Still More Pictures!

The pictures are me and my brother in Beijing, China where there is a cool exercise playground.

Last Few days of Summer

When my father first asked me if wanted to go to DC with him and my brother for my brother's chess tournament, I thought about it and said no. My dad kept asking and asking me but each time I would shake my head and say no. I mean, I would love to see the White House and the museums and collect the printed souvenir pennies for my collection. The only part I don't like was the 3-hour bus ride getting there and coming back. Three hours bus each way! I hate riding buses, cars, any land vehicle for large amount of time.

The first day after my dad and my brother left, I went back-to-school shopping my mom. We picked a very cute plaid top, a pair of blue Levi jeans, and a gray stretchy pant that are just amazing. The second day, I surfed the internet and later went to Target. My mom bought a shoe organizer. I persuaded her to buy a Kong toy for my dog. A Kong toy is a rubber toy and you could squeeze treats inside the hole in the toy. My dog loves it! Well...First he sniffed it and walked away. That is all he did...until he saw me inserting his favorite beef jerky treat inside. He started playing. Now he loves it with treats or not.

Two days went by and now my brother is in DC playing chess. I am at my house with my mom and my dog. It is relaxing but I admit it is kind of boring without hearing my brother's corny jokes and looking at his humble smile. He has won 2 out of 3 games so far, which is pretty good. He will play two more games today and will be coming home tomorrow.

I can't wait to see him!

Blowing Bubbles

"Pop!" That's the sound of my mom blowing a bubble out of just gum! Not bubblegum. Just gum! I've always admired how my mother could blow such perfect, such round, such loud bubbles. I tried to but either the gum would fall out of my mouth or it wouldn't even start turning into one. I never could get the hang of it. Then one day, I went into the pantry and took out a package of bubblegum flavored gum. I chewed two pieces while reading my favorite book "Rescue" by Nicholas Edwards. I chewed and chewed. I tried to blow a bubble but like the other times, I failed. I added another piece of gum into my mouth. Still failed. And another. No luck. On like that until I had about 7 pieces of bubblegum flavored gum in my mouth. I tried hard. "Fffffooooooooosh!" The gum in my mouth started to blow up like a balloon. SUCCESS!!! The pink colored gum went "POP!" and popped on my mouth and nose. It was a sticky mess but I was proud. After I cleaned up, I went back to the pantry and took out a mint pack of gum. ( I ate all of the bubblegum flavored ones. ) This time, I only took 3 pieces, not 7 and chewed. I tried hard and blew the same way I did as the first time. VICTORY! Today, I can easily blow bubbles with just gum. Not bubble gum and with only 2 pieces. This experience has taught me that if you try hard, you can do it!

Winter

I know it's summer right now but I just can't wait for winter. Snow, my birthday, no school, Christmas...

What could be better?
So I wrote a poem about winter. I hope you like it.

Winter

When jolly 'ol Santa comes around,
And the streets are filled with sound,
And my birthday comes,
Cake, cookies, YUM!!!
What could be better than that?
Unwrapping presents,
Sleighbells ring,
Christmas carols,
In music class we sing.
And on Christmas day all the children play,
Having snowball fights, "I got you!" Yay!!!
Christmas and my birthday have ended...
But that doesn't mean winter is gone,
Winter is still here, the date's the 26th,
Winter's still here for long.

I could live like a dancer

My short poem "I could live like that" expresses what I love doing. Right now, I'm in a dance team at the "Music and Dance" school. The next school year, I will be in dance team for 2 years. Last year, also my 1st year in dance team, my team got 1st place for our ballet dance and 2nd in our jazz dance for our age group 9-11. The pictures above are me at the competition recital. The pink dresses are our ballet dance and the black/red mini dress/skirts are our jazz dance.

I could live like a dancer...

I could live like that.
Dancing,
Jumping,
Flying through the air!

I could live like that.
Going to performances,
Waving to fans,
Touring the world!

I could live like that.
Twirling,
Leaping,
Getting praise!

I could live like that.

My Canadian Cruise

A couple days ago, I could have been eating a deluxe dinner of steak, soup and chocolatte mousse right now. Well, I'm eating some Chinese food since it's my culture. The food isn't bad ( I mean the Chinese food ) but I'd rather have the chocolatte mousse for dessert instead of some healthy clementines.

The last day of July 2010, my family, my mom, dad, and brother drove to New York where the cruise ship was leaving. We parked our car at my mom's cousin's house and they, ( my mom's cousin and her husband ) drove us to the dock.
At the dock, my family first saw our cruise ship called "Carnival Glory." It was the ship we'd be living in for the next 5 days. A man took our luggage and we lined up for the security checking. When the security checking was done, everything speeded by quickly.

On the ship, I raced over to the "Red Sail Restaurant". It's like a buffet. There were great foods like potato salad and onion rings. I especially loved the upstair seafood place. They offered you fish 'n chips, fried oysters, seafood mix etc. After that, there was a reealllyyy long safety drill. I'm glad at least it wasn't burning hot and super boring like the safety drill on the cruise I had a year ago.

Anyways, the safety drill took a pretty long time and before I knew it, the ship was moving. My brother and I wanted to see our cabin. The cabin was a regular sized cabin with a T.V. and some closets. Also, it had 1 large size bed and 2 small bunks on the to p. The bathroom was pretty small.

6 'o clock came and that's when the dinner started. I got soup and some beef and carrots with lime sherbert for dessert. My brother and I went to the kids club until 9 and that's when my parents picked us up. We went to see a welcome show. It was funny.

The next morning, my family and I went up to the Lido deck, ( deck 9. ) We ate breakfast there. After a while walking around the ship, I got bored. I went swimming, well actually sitting in the jacuzzi tub. It was probably lunch time when I got out and went to lunch.

1. Wake up

2. Breakfast

3.Kids club or swimming

4. Lunch

5. Kids club or swimming

6. Mini golf

7. Watch T.V

8. Dinner

9. Kids club

10. Show

That was basically the schedule for me for the days at sea.

I went to St. John, New Brunswick on the 3rd day, 8/3/2010. It was nice. My family found a bus tour and rode on it. We visited the marketplace and tasted kelp/dried seaweed/Dulce. Didn't taste too bad. Just weird. We also went to the reversing falls. I prefer the marketplace better. The reversing falls were kind of boring. I learned many things about St. John.

The next day, the ship docked at Halifax, Nova Scotia. We went on a double decker bus to many places. My favorite place where we went that day was the Del Sol store. Del Sol has things like rings and shirts and hair clips that change color in the sunlight. I got nail polish.

The next day was a day at sea again. Same routine.

On Thursday, 8/5/2010, the ship docked back at New York. The 3 things I really remember was 1. The great food. 2. The night when I got to stay up to 3 am because the kids club had a party. 3. When there was a construction challenge and the goal was to make a sturdy building with tape and paper. The girls team won 1st place but I mostly made the whole thing so I got to keep it. I was not too happy when I couldn't take most of the building home because there was no more room in our luggage.

With or without souvenirs, the cruise was a exciting trip for everyone I knew who went on the ship. I can't wait for our next cruise!

Summer

The birds in the trees are singing,
The neighborhood is ringing.
With shouts of delight,
Flowers blooming, what a beautiful sight!
As summer comes 'round the corner.
