Blowing Bubbles
"Pop!" That's the sound of my mom blowing a bubble out of just gum! Not bubblegum. Just gum! I've always admired how my mother could blow such perfect, such round, such loud bubbles. I tried to but either the gum would fall out of my mouth or it wouldn't even start turning into one. I never could get the hang of it. Then one day, I went into the pantry and took out a package of bubblegum flavored gum. I chewed two pieces while reading my favorite book "Rescue" by Nicholas Edwards. I chewed and chewed. I tried to blow a bubble but like the other times, I failed. I added another piece of gum into my mouth. Still failed. And another. No luck. On like that until I had about 7 pieces of bubblegum flavored gum in my mouth. I tried hard. "Fffffooooooooosh!" The gum in my mouth started to blow up like a balloon. SUCCESS!!! The pink colored gum went "POP!" and popped on my mouth and nose. It was a sticky mess but I was proud. After I cleaned up, I went back to the pantry and took out a mint pack of gum. ( I ate all of the bubblegum flavored ones. ) This time, I only took 3 pieces, not 7 and chewed. I tried hard and blew the same way I did as the first time. VICTORY! Today, I can easily blow bubbles with just gum. Not bubble gum and with only 2 pieces. This experience has taught me that if you try hard, you can do it!
